10 Steps To Give An Old Dining Chair A New Glamour Life

I already have written a guide on how to restore a dining table, now it’s time to show you how to refresh chairs in 10 easy steps, so you can finally host a great dinner party.
Just like in the case of a table, a chair renovation can be done by anybody as long as you are patient and you have some spare time on your hands. Simply follow these 10 steps below:
Step 1
Separate the seat part from the wooden part of the chair.
Step 2
Remove the old stain by sanding it off with sandpaper (in my case this old cherry color had to go)
Step 3
Apply new stain with a soft cloth (I have used Minwax 211698 Finish Wood Expresso oil stain) and let it dry for 24 hours.
Step 4
Lightly sand the chair with 220 grit sandpaper and apply the second coat of stain to the chair. Once more, allow it to dry for 24 hours. To get a more natural look, you can strengthen the pattern of wood growth rings, by sanding off excess stain with fine sandpaper (220 grit).

Now the wooden part of the chair is finished, so let’s move on to the seat of the chair.
Step 5
Remove cardboard (if there is one) from its bottom.
Step 6
Take the new fabric, measure, and cut it into the desired piece.
Step 7
Tightly wrap the fabric around it and staple it to the seat.
Step 8
Put the cardboard removed earlier back on the chair to cover the uneven edges of the fabric.
Step 9
Attach the seat back to the chair as it was originally.
Step 10
Invite your family and friends for a glamorous dinner and to show off your new dining room set. Enjoy your fab meals.
