When Everything Stops You Can Still Travel The World

travel the world

Did you know that when everything stops and you have to stay home, you can still travel the World ?!?

Thanks to today’s advanced technology you can virtually travel the World. If you have kids, or if you don’t, you can still make it a fun activity. And to make it even more fun you can do these steps:

STEP 1

Create a passport for each member of your family. Every day or each week visit a different place in the World and collect experiences/stamps. Passports can be as easy as a few white pages stapled together. Or it could look more like your national passport with the title page and picture. Kids can fill out their own title page and even sign it. You can add pictures, makeup stamps, and dates for every place you visit.

Katie Hornor from www.paradisepraises.com created a fun option for you. She made a printable passport for kids to use and stamps from each country that goes with it.

STEP 2

Find and print a map of the chosen country. Learn a few facts about it. Make it a fun activity on its own. Find an online idea eg. on Pinterest or Google images. Be creative, cut, print, glue, and color. Create an itinerary for the few days you are traveling to this country. It could be a day for every big city or a week to see the capital. Or a few weeks to visit the most interesting spots in the whore country.

around the world

For Example France: Day 1 Paris. Day 2 D-day Beaches, Day 3 Amboise, and castles along the river. Day 4 Carcassone, Day 5 Alps, and for the weekend you can have a beach day at home.

Here are also some Virtual Tours around the USA.

Georgia Aquarium has live cameras. You can get a stamp on your passport for visiting  Atlanta USA and learning about different sea creatures.

Here is a list of different ZOOs to visit.

Also, add these museums and attractions to your passport.

Here is a list of virtual fun and educational field trips to different parts of the World.

STEP 3

Make food specific to that country. It could be as basic as a baguette and some cheese, or more challenging like Pad Thai. Cook together as a family and learn different international dishes made in the specific region. You can find cooks that cook online and have specific accents. And for dessert, you can bake some amazing cookies and maybe drop them off at the closest hospital for the medical staff. I’m sure they would love that (as long as you are healthy and use safety tips). My girl guides are baking cookies at their homes. And this week they are dropping them off at one of the local hospitals.

STEP 4

Listen to specific music from that country: Spotify, Youtube, etc. Maybe put some costumes on and learn a dance or a song. Take some pictures and print them for your passport.

STEP 5

Learn traditions that are used in this region of the world. Using Easter time you can learn about different traditions around the world. Write down in your passport traditions that you enjoy the most.

And now decide where will you want to go first! Enjoy 🙂
